Quick answer: The road train departs from the Main Post Office (Hlavní pošta) and travels through the entire spa district — past the colonnades, along the Teplá River. It runs from 25 April to 25 October daily, with departures from 11:00 to 17:00. Ticket: 100 CZK for adults, children under 5 free. In December a Christmas road train runs — 50 CZK, children under 15 free.

One of the best ways to get to know the spa district of Karlovy Vary is to board the miniature tourist road train and ride along the promenade past all the main colonnades. Around 50 minutes, comfortable seats, open views — and no tired legs. Especially good with children.

Route

The train departs from the Main Post Office (Hlavní pošta) and travels through the spa district along the Teplá River. Stops along the way include the Market Colonnade (Tržnice), Theatre Square (Divadelní náměstí), the Mill Colonnade and the Garden Colonnade. The end point is the Hotel Richmond, after which the train returns.

The full circular route takes approximately 50 minutes.

The route runs through the very heart of the spa zone — past most of the springs and the main sights. An ideal way to get your bearings on your first day.

Road Train or Walking?

The spa district of Karlovy Vary is compact — from the Main Post Office to the Garden Colonnade on foot takes around 20–25 minutes. The road train is not a replacement for a walk, but a complement to it: ideal for a first overview of the city, for families with children, for older visitors, or simply to see the whole route at once without stopping.

After the ride you can step off at any colonnade and continue on foot.
